My baby sleeps best on tummy or side, is this ok?
Your baby should only be placed on his or her back in the DockATot Deluxe+ dock. Babies who sleep on their tummies have an increased risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. For this reason, the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends babies only be placed to sleep on their backs for their first year of life.
Also, there should be no blankets or pillows under or over the baby. Plush objects like blankets and pillows are associated with infant suffocation.
Pediatricians advise that once a baby is capable of rolling over from back to stomach, and from stomach to back, the infant can be allowed to remain in the sleep position baby assumes. A tot of over one year of age, who is capable of rolling over from back to stomach, and from stomach to back, may be allowed to sleep in the position the tot assumes in the Grand dock.
